Help Yourself to an Introduction

Self help products can be found almost everywhere today. Go to your local bookstore and you will find a whole section of books that will "change your life guaranteed". I have not seen this exact quote but I'm sure its out there since many of the programs and products boast such large claims. Whether or not the creators of these programs have good intentions is hard to tell, but they are all offering their own knowledge, or someone else's knowledge recycled, promising to change your life for the better or your money back. For some its a joke and others it provides a hope to reach heights most can only dream of.

As someone with larger than life dreams since childhood I like to look at personal development products and information with an optimistic (but intelligent) point of view. Yes, some promise results with little input required other than your hard earned dollars and these people need to be taken lightly or ignored. Many however make success seem in your reach, which instantly makes many people skeptical. "Who am I to have all the wealth I can imagine?" is the general thought process. However, This key point that success is within your reach is the most important fact of life that most people forget or are conditioned to not believe as they age.

This is going to be the purpose of my blog, to discuss topics I have learned about in the self help industry and give them a go for myself! I hope to try techniques and set goals on this blog and publish my results so to give feedback for others to learn from. Two key points come to mind when I ask myself the question: "Why am I even writing this blog?"

Firstly, a Definition of success I recently heard on a youtube video: "Success is the progressive realization of a worthy ideal."

By writing this blog I allow myself to contemplate ideas I have heard and work on my own personal development. I am therefore using this blog to make myself a success, by progressively realizing a worthy ideal. Success comes before riches, not the other way around. Progress is the true goal and motivator of people. anyone who is stagnant or not making progress will find it hard to be happy.

Secondly, the idea (which I believe to be true) that a person must contribute to receive. Think about this for a while. This applies to tangible and intangible assets as well. Without getting into too much detail here, I am hoping to provide some helpful insights to people who might also be interested in personal development. And really, who isn't interested in their own future? Although I am using this blog as a driving force for my own life insights I am strongly hoping I can inspire others to explore their own potential as well.

My plan is to take personal development knowledge I have gained and put them to action and report the result. the second step being the most important. You may have heard" knowledge is power" before, yet this is misleading. Knowledge is utterly useless without action.

I hope some of you get as excited about these ideas as I do and maybe even follow along with the self help applications with me! Please provide feedback and ideas and maybe we can build a community of people looking to better themselves.
